The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights has made Billboard history.
He has become the first solo song in Billboard HOT 100 history to chart for 80 weeks. The song is currently 8x platinum and no doubt it will hit diamond status (10x platinum). This eighties-inspired anthem earned the Weeknd the most successful single of his career.
In an Instagram post shared by XO co-founder Amir “Cash” Esmailian, who also co-manages The Weeknd, he confirms that “Blinding Lights” has become the first solo song to spend eighty weeks on the Hot 100 charts.
