The former Los Angeles home of Marilyn Monroe has been declared a national landmark to save it from destruction. The Brentwood residence has been the subject of a year-long legal battle after the couple owning the neighboring property purchased the home for $8.35 million with plans to demolish it. The home is where Monroe died on August 4th, 1962, just six months after buying the property for $75,000.
