Former Bachelor star Matt James has confirmed that he and Rachael Kirkconnell have ended their relationship after four years together.
James, who was on Season 25 of the ABC reality series, announced the news on Instagram, tagging Kirkconnell in his post but disabling comments.
“Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts. Give us a peace about this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding. Shower our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our Joy comes from you, Lord.”
Kirkconnell has not publicly addressed the breakup on her own social media platforms.
The couple first met in 2021 on The Bachelor, where James made history as the first Black male lead in the franchise. Although their relationship faced early challenges due to resurfaced controversies surrounding Kirkconnell’s past social media activity, the pair reconciled and remained together for several years.
Throughout their relationship, James and Kirkconnell frequently shared glimpses of their life together on social media, traveling, attending events, and supporting charitable causes. Fans had speculated about the state of their relationship in recent months, but neither had publicly commented until James’ announcement.
As of now, neither James nor Kirkconnell has provided additional details about the reason behind their split.
