Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are looking to dismiss Justin Baldoni’s defamation lawsuit against them.
The couple informed a federal judge of their intentions before the case’s first hearing.
Lively, 37, has filed a $250 million lawsuit against Baldoni, 41—her co-star and director in It Ends With Us—accusing him of sexual harassment during filming and orchestrating a smear campaign when she spoke out. Baldoni has denied the allegations.
In response, Baldoni and his publicists countersued for $400 million, claiming defamation. They also alleged that Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, pressured talent agency WME to sever ties with Baldoni—an accusation WME has denied.
In response to Baldoni’s legal actions, Lively’s team called it a “desperate” strategy and argued that the defamation suit was an attempt to victimize the accuser.
A trial date has been set for March 9, 2026.
