Blake Lively Files To Dismiss Justin Baldoni Lawsuit

Blake Lively filed a motion to dismiss Justin Baldoni’s defamation and civil extortion lawsuit against her, claiming it was a “profound abuse of the legal process.”

Her legal team stated that California law prohibits suing victims who speak out against sexual harassment or retaliation, and the lawsuit runs into legal obstacles, including litigation, fair reporting, and sexual harassment privileges.

The lawsuit also includes a mandatory fee-shifting provision requiring those who brought frivolous defamation claims against Lively to pay damages.

Her lawyers accused Baldoni and others of attempting to sue her “into oblivion” but created more liability for themselves.
