Charlie Puth discussed his decision to live a more genuine life and avoid alcohol, especially after experiencing a severe hangover before the release of his third album.
Puth reflected on a moment in New York where he realized the need to stop pretending to be someone he’s not, leading to a significant shift in his lifestyle.
The artist emphasized the transformative nature of his decision, stating, “after years of surrounding myself with the wrong things and saying the wrong things, it’s profound when it just all comes to a screeching halt one day at 30 years old in New York City.”
Puth is preparing to release his fourth studio album, Whatever’s Clever!, on March 27th, which marks a departure from his previous approach to music-making, as he took the time to create a cohesive body of work with producer BloodPop.
Regarding his upcoming album, Puth shared, “This album, Whatever’s Clever!, is the first time where I just sat down and I had a lot of time. I just stayed with myself and BloodPop, and just made a full body of work.”
