Savannah Guthrie returned to NBC’s Today show on Thursday for the first time since her mother, Nancy Guthrie, was abducted, though she did not appear on air.

“Savannah Guthrie stopped by the studio this morning to be with and thank her ‘Today’ colleagues,” NBC News said in a statement. “While she plans to return to the show on air, she remains focused right now supporting her family and working to help bring Nancy home.”

The co-anchor stopped by the studio to visit colleagues as the investigation into her mother’s disappearance continues. Nancy Guthrie, 84, was taken from her home in Arizona on Jan. 31. Authorities say the case remains active and no person of interest has been publicly identified.

Search efforts around Nancy Guthrie’s home have been ongoing for weeks as investigators continue to look for answers.

With Guthrie taking time away from the broadcast, Today producers are also working to determine how to handle her role on the program while the situation remains unresolved.
