An “Amazing Race” Couple Is Suing the Show for Making Them Look Bad

The contract people sign to participate in a reality show pretty much always states that the producers can portray you however they want to. So it’ll be interesting to see how this pans out:
A married couple who competed on “The Amazing Race” is suing CBS and the show’s producers for making them look bad.
Jonathan and Ana Towns claim that the show portrayed Jonathan in a “false” and “highly damaging” light, making him appear to be a “morally depraved, brutal and abusive spouse.”
They also say that after one particular meltdown during shooting, Jonathan was diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum.
They say the producers didn’t offer him any help. Instead, they convinced the couple not to quit the show, and said they would be depicted fairly.
The Towns are seeking $8 million in damages and a public apology. They also want a re-edit of their season, with disclaimers revealing Jonathan’s diagnosis.
